The United States is considering Ukraine's request to obtain long-range Tomahawk missiles for its effort to push back against Russian military operations, Vice President JD Vance said on Sunday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked the United States to sell Tomahawks to European nations that would send them to Ukraine. Vance said on "Fox News Sunday" that U.S. President Donald Trump would make the "final determination" on whether to allow the deal.

"We're certainly looking at a number of requests from the Europeans," Vance said.

Tomahawk missiles have a range of 2,500 km, and would be a powerful asset in Ukraine's arsenal as it fights back against Russian missile and drone attacks.

Trump has denied Ukraine's requests for use of long-range missiles in the past but has grown frustrated with Russian President Vladimir Putin recently.

Vance's statement came after a heavy Russian aerial attack that lasted for more than 12 hours. Zelenskyy said on social media on Sunday that the attack killed at least four people and injured at least 80 others in Ukraine.

The barrage – involving nearly 600 drones and several dozen missiles aimed at seven regions of Ukraine – is one of the heaviest in recent months.

Zelenskyy warned that Ukraine would retaliate and said the attack showed Moscow "wants to continue fighting and killing." Russia said it struck military facilities and industrial enterprises supporting Ukraine's armed forces.

On Monday, when asked whether there were any indications about talks resuming between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations by Russia's RIA news agency, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that there have been no signals from Kyiv about a possible resumption of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations.

"No, so far there are basically no signals from Kyiv at all," Peskov said.
