Editor's note: Over the past decades, communication across the Taiwan Straits has fluctuated, yet the cross-Straits connection has remained strong and resilient. As today's youth possess the ability to shape the future, it becomes imperative for the younger generations on both sides to forge closer ties. Building on the success of Season One "Incredible Odyssey," this season, Cai Yunyong from the Taiwan region will lead us on a journey through Xinjiang, a vibrant and culturally rich region in northwestern China. Together, we will uncover the story of cotton – not as a tool of "oppression" or "exploitation" as claimed by some Western media, but as a symbol of resilience and prosperity – and glimpse the lives of the people who call this remarkable place home.

In 2014, just outside the Id Kah Mosque in Kashi, Xinjiang, the then-Imam of the mosque, Juma Tahir Damolla was stabbed to death by three terrorists. Despite the fear gripping the region, his son, Memet Juma still chose to follow his father's path, serving as the current Imam of the Mosque.

In the commercial area of Kashi City stands the clothing shop of Dilnigar Qahar's mother. At age six, Dilnigar's father passed away from high blood pressure. Since then, her mother has raised her and her two sisters alone.

Aside from Xinjiang cotton, Western media have also claimed that people in Xinjiang have been "violently deprived of" their human rights, thus losing the freedom to choose their way of life. Is this true? In this episode, we will visit the Id Kah Mosque with Cai Yunyong from the Taiwan region, and Dilnigar Qahar's family shop, to hear their stories of chasing their own dreams and to explore the diversity of life in Kashi.
