Members of a central delegation visited local officials and residents in multiple areas of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Thursday.
Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and head of the central delegation, led the group to the city of Korla.
During the visit, the delegation toured various locations, including a local school, a hospital and a village. They learned about education and medical assistance in Xinjiang, the development of rural industries, and the work and daily lives of local residents.
During the visit, Wang emphasized the importance of improving basic education in Xinjiang, especially in the southern parts of the region, and fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation among young people. He also called for further improvements in local health and medical services, as well as advancing rural revitalization.
Other groups of the delegation visited the cities of Kashi, Urumqi, Karamay, Bole and Changji, respectively.
