Videos displayed by China were hailed by attendees at the 149th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, Switzerland, on Thursday.

China's National People's Congress (NPC) displayed video clips on the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the NPC's affiliation with the IPU, as well as the 2024 interregional seminar on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for parliaments of developing countries.

Tulia Ackson, IPU president and Tanzania's National Assembly speaker, and IPU Secretary General, Martin Chungong spoke highly of China's achievements in organizing the activities and its high-level cooperation with the IPU over the past 40 years.

More than 1,500 representatives from 156 countries watched the videos, which received a warm applause.
