Postal services across the world are suspending parcel deliveries to the United States ahead of the suspension of duty-free treatment for low-value packages starting August 29.

On July 30, the U.S. administration announced it would end the global "de minimis" exemption, which allows for minimal paperwork on international shipments under $800.

India's Ministry of Communications said on August 23 that, due to U.S. tariff policies, Indian postal services will suspend parcel services to the U.S. starting August 25, except for letters, documents, and gifts under $100.

Korea Post also announced it will stop accepting parcels to the U.S., citing the inability of the current postal network to handle the new declaration and tariff requirements. Premium services via private partners remain available but at higher costs.

Italy's postal service said on August 23 that it had suspended parcel deliveries to the U.S., while regular mail without goods would continue. Several other European postal services had issued similar statements earlier.
