China expects all parties concerned and stakeholders in the Ukraine crisis to participate in peace talks and work towards securing a fair and lasting peace agreement acceptable to all sides as soon as possible, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Monday.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders will meet U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on Monday, following Trump's earlier talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
Commenting on the Trump-Putin summit, spokesperson Mao Ning said Beijing supports all efforts for the peaceful settlement of the Ukraine crisis, welcomes continued engagement between Russia and the United States, and encourages both sides to improve relations and advance the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis.
