China did not start the war in Ukraine, is not a party to the conflict, has never provided lethal weapons, and has always "strictly controlled dual-use materials, including the export of drones," China's deputy UN Ambassador Geng Shuang said on Friday.

"We urge the U.S. to stop shifting blame on the Ukraine issue or creating confrontation, and instead play a more constructive role in promoting a ceasefire and peace talks," he told a meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine.

Geng made the remarks after acting U.S. Ambassador to the UN Dorothy Shea accused China of exporting dual-use goods to Russia, enabling its drone and missile attacks on Ukraine.
