Starting from 1939, Japanese war planes began to launch fierce bombings against Chongqing. Faced with the relentless bombings, people had no choice but to migrate and seek refuge. Today, however, the banks along the Yangtze River in Chongqing have been transformed into popular tourist attractions. Large numbers of visitors come here to enjoy the night views. The once devastated areas no longer exist; what remains is joy and prosperity.
