The 17th BRICS Summit is set to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 6 to 7. With the historic expansion of BRICS, the mechanism has entered a new stage of "Greater BRICS cooperation," characterized by broader participation, stronger representation, and rising global influence. What is driving a bigger BRICS? What does Greater BRICS mean for the world? As the global economy faces fresh turbulence under U.S. tariffs and geopolitical shifts, what role has the BRICS played, and what role is it poised to play next?

Join host Mushahid Hussain Sayed, co-chair of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties, to explore the whole arc of "Greater BRICS Cooperation," from its origins and evolution to its current frameworks, key achievements, and future prospects.

Guests in this edition of Global South Voices are Paulo Nogueira Batista, economist and former executive director of IMF; Mohammad Hussain Baqeri, founder and chairman of Iqbal Forum, Tehran; Faizal Dawjee, a prominent journalist and commentator on Global South issues; and Muhammed Saqib, executive director of the Center of Geoeconomics for the Global South.
