As of the end of 2024, the Communist Party of China (CPC) reached a total membership of 100.271 million – an increase of 1.1 percent from the previous year, according to official data released on Monday by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The number of primary-level Party organizations reached 5.25 million, marking a net increase of 74,000 over the previous year. This growth underscores the CPC's continued focus on strengthening primary-level Party organizations, which serve as a vital organizational foundation for implementing the Party's lines, principles, and policies.

Female Party members now number 30.995 million, accounting for 30.9 percent of the total – a 0.5-percentage point increase from the last year. The proportion of ethnic minority members remained 7.7 percent, with the number standing at 7.734 million. These reflect the CPC's emphasis on gender equality and its efforts to promote national unity and consolidate the strength of all ethnic groups.

Party members with junior college degrees or above accounted for 57.6 percent, an increase from 44.3 percent in 2015, which shows that the CPC has attracted a large number of educated professionals to join, providing intellectual support for the country's scientific and technological innovation.

The majority of CPC members are workers, farmers, technical professionals, and managers in enterprises and public sector organizations. Workers and farmers alone account for 32.7 percent of total membership – reinforcing the CPC's long-standing people-centered approach and its identity as the vanguard of the working class.
