Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, met with Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man in Hanoi on Monday.

Xi said the National People's Congress of China and the National Assembly of Vietnam have maintained frequent exchanges and yielded fruitful cooperation outcomes.

He said the legislative bodies of both countries should make more efforts to strengthen traditional friendship, ensure the implementation of practical cooperation, and intensify multilateral coordination.

They should also conduct exchanges on advancing socialist democracy and the rule of law in their respective countries, continuously enriching the substance of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future, he added.
