The Chinese Commerce Ministry on Tuesday denounced the U.S. threat to impose 50-percent additional tariffs on China.

The threatened additional tariffs are a mistake on a mistake, the ministry said in a statement, urging the U.S. to immediately rectify its wrong practices and cancel all unilateral tariffs.

China hopes the U.S. can resolve disagreements through dialogue based on mutual respect, it added.
