A Delta Air Lines flight flipped upside down upon landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday amid windy weather following a snowstorm, injuring 17 of the 80 people on board, the airport president, Deborah Flint, said at a news briefing.

Three people, including a child, suffered critical injuries. Delta said a CRJ900 aircraft operated by its Endeavor Air subsidiary was involved in the single-aircraft accident and 76 passengers and four crew were aboard.

"Initial reports indicate there are no fatalities and 18 customers with injuries have been transported to area hospitals," Delta previously said in a statement on X.

The CRJ900, made by Canada's Bombardier, can seat up to 90 people.

The flight originated from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The cause of the incident has not yet been ascertained.
